Taking inspiration from the character of Carmel cottages, we redesigned this small one story home to have all the amenities of a modern home. To the front of the house, we enlarged the living room with an intimate alcove, and added the round entry turret and foyer to provide a focal highlight for the front elevation. We expanded an addition to the rear of the first floor with a new family room and gourmet kitchen, and added a second floor with a fully appointed master suite, complete with office alcove, walk-in closet, dressing area and luxurious bathroom. The entire house was refinished to evoke an old-world ambience with classic trim and molding, distressed finishes, and warm colors.
