New Home | Modern Mediterranean | Los Altos Hills

This new home in Los Altos Hills has a formal Mediterranean exterior, showcasing cast stone corner quoins, bracketed eaves, and arched windows. The Spanish tiled mansard roof conceals the recessed solar panels. The home is situated in an urban wild fire zone and required special construction material and tempered glass to reduce fire damage. Young and Borlik worked closely with the city of Los Altos Hills to ensure all special fire code requirements were met.

Step inside the home and the modern, bright interior offers an open living space and views of Los Altos Hills and the Bay Area. The grand staircase is lit by natural light from a unique skylight and features iron railings. The informal living room brings the outside in with a set of double sliding glass doors that completely disappear in the wall when opened. The basement floor offers a wine cellar, a home theater and a personal sauna for relaxing after a dip in the pool.
